Looking for a Mobile RV Tech in the Central Florida area

Hi all;

My wife and I own a 2024 Unity RL and live in The Villages. We purchased our RV from Grezenyโ€™s for Lakeland. We have also had it serviced there but have been disappointed multiple times. Therefore we are looking for a reliable Mobile RV tech in the area that we can use for different service needs. if you have any recommendations please let me know.

We were unable to attend the fall rally but hoped to attend the spring one. I see conflicting information that it is sold out and other info that tickets will go on sale early2026. Can anyone clarify which is true? Thanks

Little BIG Van will be spending Christmas "On the Road" again this year. Using our Florida Residency "Head Start" program we were able to get reservations at Stephen Foster SP and Silver Springs SP, two of our favorites. We are hoping that they still have enough money to put up the Christmas lights at Stephen Foster!

HO!, HO!, HO! to everybody and wishing safe travels to all in 2026!

Roof Hatch Falling Apart

Living in Florida, the sun slowly eats the plastic parts on our RVs, but I bet it no surprise to the Flamingles members.

I was parked, the wind was about 25knts and the dome/top part of the hatch flew off and split. I've secured the remaining lower portion and have no leaks, for the moment. The side actually cracked which allowed the dome the loosen. I blame it on the sun as there was no damage other than the crack.

I've been searching for a replacement without any luck. My dealer tried but was unsuccesful. Triple E gave me a dome replacement cost well over $1000 not including shipping.

Any thoughts?

I ordered a new one for our 2022 UTB through Nomadic Supply and costs $800+. Ordered it back in June ans last I heard it was due to be shipped from Germany end of October.

So $1,000 from LTV isn't that bad, they are expensive if you can find them.

Gas Valve

One of the valves on my stove top will not allow the burner to stay on. When you release the knob, the burner extinguishes. I have cleaned it but the problem persist. I beleive I have a bad valve that no longer releases the gas flow once the it has heated. I have tried removing the valve with no luck.

Any ideas?

This may help.

ย The ย thermocouple is an electo-mechanical safety device that senses if the pilot flame in an RV appliance is present. If the pilot flame goes out, the thermocouple will automatically shut off the flow of gas through the gas valve, thereby removing the fuel source and preventing the accumulation of explosive gas mixtures.

When the thermocouple is heated by the pilot flame, a small electrical current is generated. This micro current powers an electromagnet in the main appliance valve which holds open the valve that supplies the propane to the appliance.

If the pilot flame goes out, the electrical current is interrupted, the electromagnet is de-energized, and the valve closes automatically.

When lighting the pilot flame, allow the thermocouple to heat up for 30 seconds or so before releasing the valve button. If the pilot refuses to stay lit after several attempts, try gently cleaning the contacts where the thermocouple screws into the main valve body. When re-tightening this contact, screw it in finger tight, then tighten 1/4 turn with a wrench. If the pilot still will not stay lit then replace the thermocouple.

If you don't get any pilot flame at all or the flame is too weak to activate the thermocouple, your pilot orifice may be plugged, or partially plugged.

Under cabinet fruit storage

We are wondering if anyone has a drawer or basket that can be mounted under the cabinets above the stove.

It would be handy for fruit, veggies or bakery type things. Thanks, Claudia
