President, Secretary, and Treasuer Elections

As we get closer to the Fall Rally, I’ve had the honor and pleasure of taking over from our former President, Gary Oster. It’s time for me to pass the baton to the next leader.

I’ve also chatted with our Treasurer, Margo Hickman, and she’s ready to hand over her position. She’s been doing a fantastic job managing our finances and keeping us in line with our responsibilities with the IRS as a non-profit organization.

We’re already seeking someone to fill the Secretary position, so electing a new and complete board keeps us in alignment with our Bylaws, which calls for elections at the Fall Rally.

So, we’ll be seeking nominations and elections for a new President, Secretary, and Treasurer at our upcoming Fall Rally Business Meeting.

Please consider this if you think you or someone you know has the skills to lead the Florida Flamingles moving forweard.

Thank You

2026 Fall Rally Agenda

Good evening to the Flock!

We’re currently enjoying a lovely view of the Grand Teton Mountains from Colter Bay Campgroungd that sits on the shores of Lake Jackson.

If you haven’t had the chance to visit before, we’d encourage you to take a trip in your LTV—you won’t be disappointed!

Ticket sales and registration are open, and The Waves is now taking reservations for us.

Some of you have been wondering about the agenda.

That’s true right now; it’s not available because we’re still finalizing everything. Once we have it all set in stone, we’ll share it with you well in advance so you know what we’ve planned.

Question Re The Waves Fall Rally 2026

I looked at The Waves RV Park on the Google Maps site. It appears that the majority of sites are occupied with single or double wide manufactured homes. Am I looking at the correct web site for the upcoming October Flamingles Rally? Regards.

Yes you're looking at the correct RV Park.

The sites we will be placed in are mainly all around the perimeter With Trees!!

Ticket Sales / Registration will open September 1st - September 30th so once you register and have your tickets you can call into The Waves and reserve your site.

Let is know if you have any additional questions.

Upcoming 2026 Fall Rally

Good Afternoon to the flock!!

Just a quick note on the up coming rally in October.

The rally is noted in the "Upcoming" section with the location and dates however it says that it's closed which is because we have not yet released ticket sales.

We are presently working on the agenda and catering and ticket sales will be open beginning September 1'st to September 30th.

Once you have purchased your ticket(s) then proceed to reserve your site at The Waves.

please do not call to reserve your site until after you have your ticket (s) so we can keep track of who is registered.

Thank you for information. Is there a way we are to register to attend… before the tickets go on sale? Sorry, feel we are a little confused as to exactly what to do and don’t want to miss all the fun. And, can we register my wife’s email address too so she can get club information? Just don’t want to miss any club information. Your help with this will be appreciated

And another thing..

We went camping last week at Wekiwa Springs State Park. Just before we got there, and then again on the way home we experienced a loud noise that appeared to be coming from under the passenger front seat. It continued even after we got home and turned the engine off for about 10 minutes. The area around the seat was also very hot to the touch. Adil did some research and we think the battery isolator is in that location. Adil also was able to take a picture and it looks like we have a Sterling Power battery to battery charger. Does anyone have any experience, or recommendations for replacing, or upgrading this equipment? We contacted Lithionics, but we are not ready to switch out to a Lithium battery yet, still working on getting the flat tow set up. Thanks for any and all assistance.

Sounds like the issues we had with the DC to DC charger under passenger seat. Drove me, the passenger, nuts.

It can be replaced, we had it replaced at CTM in Florida with a package upgrade.

Not sure you need the RV towed for this. Can find someone to replace it and drive it there if this is an isolated repair you need.

Recommendations.

We just bought a 2026 Ford Maverick Lariat to tow behind our LTV. Does anyone have any experience with flat-tow equipment installers near Tampa or on the west coast? We have gotten an estimate from CTM but would like to see if there is an installer that is a bit closer to our home. Thanks.

Broken table hinge - replacement?

I thought that I'd float this one out to the community...

One of the hinges on our table broke yesterday!

I think that I've found what I need on Amazon but was wondering if anyone has already successfully sourced one of these.

Many thanks in advance.

Following up.... we are back home from the trip and I was able to address this. Leisure no longer carries the size that was used in 2019.

However, my second attempt with Amazon (link) was a great success! $8.99. I changed all four and saved the three remaining good ones for future 'emergencies'.

Midi-Heki vent - what is this hole for?

Here's an odd one...

We drove through some rain earlier this week and found that our Midi-Heki vent was leaking.

I found that the frame around the 'glass' has a hole in it - but it appears that it was manufactured that way!

I've plugged it for now but does anyone know if there is something that should have been installed there? (I haven't found an answer on the web.)

I have a 2015 Unity with a similar vent/sunroof. Just a week ago I found water in part of the frame where there is not supposed to be any. Got up on the roof and cleaned away much of the caulk (mineral spirits softens it up wonderfully) and reapplied caulk all around. That fixed my leak. The inside plastic covers are very easy to remove if you want to look around some more. The first plastic cover has about 10 screws and the inner has four (2 at each end). Mark the plactic pieces so you can put it back exactly as it came out. Look at the the other areas up there that have caulk around their bases while you are up there.
